Lyrics to Little Dragon’s “Crystalfilm”

Submitted quite wonderfully by visitor Brittany. I changed one or two things, which means she has full license to kick me in the shins should I have gotten those edits wrong.

Edit: Thanks to Jessica and Domenica for the improvements!

“Crystalfilm”
Words written by Yukimi Nagano

Lost my grip and my vision gone dull
I swing my hip like a dancer gone numb
I saw your shadow, saw the skeleton run
Now something’s missing from my memory of … you
You shake my world from my ground to my head
Distant noise that wake me out of bed
I listen as the walls cave in
I’m hanging on ’cause your memories spin on

I lost my grip, I balanced it on a piece of paper
True in one trip, it’s weaving in
And I wait for later
Who is leaning in on my yes to be?
Who is sneaking in, is sneaking in on me, on me?

I cut a house in half and turn a frown
Distant painted walls and letters upside down
I try to hold on, I try to hold on but you’re gone
Then I try to let go but your memory’s still on

I lost my grip, I balanced it on a piece of paper
True in one trip, it’s weaving in
And I wait for later
Who is leaning in on my yes to be?
Who is sneaking in, is sneaking in on me, on me?

On me, on my

  1. Jessica says:

I’m hanging on cause your memory’s *thin

  2. Daniel says:

Jessica, thank you so much. Definite improvement.

  3. Domenica says:

I don’t know about you, but I hear “Who, is leaning on, is leaning in on my yesterday” and “Who is sneaking in on my, on me, on my, on me” (maybe another person is entering the “relationship”?)

  4. Daniel says:

Amended. I really don’t know what I was thinking with the “it’s” bit. I mustn’t be getting enough sleep.

  5. Lawrence Martinez says:

“I lost my grip and my vision gone dull. I swing my hip like a dancer gone dumb. I saw your shadow saw the skeleton run. Now something is missing from my memory of you. You shake my world from the ground to my head. Distant voice that wake me out of bed. I listen as the walls cave in. I’m hanging on ’cause your memories spin. I lost my grip, I ballanced it on a piece of paper. True in one tip, its weaving and I wait for later. Who is leaning in on my yes to be? Who is sneaking in on me? I cut a house in half and turn a frowm distant. painted walls and the letters upside down. I try to hold on but we gone. Then I try to let go but your memories still on.”

  6. Daniel says:

Lawrence, can’t thank you enough. This is so great. Cheers.

  7. Lisa says:

Who is leaning in on my use to be?

I try to hold on, I try to hold on but you gone

  8. Daniel says:

The ones above are now 100% correct – or at least copied correctly from the liner notes.

  9. Jamie says:

I hear “distant voice that’ll wake me outta bed”….. anyone else hear that too? Or am I hearing voices in my head?

  10. Daniel says:

Haha. I do hear the slightest ‘v’ sound, too. It could be that she let it slip in the recording, but I think the lyrics above are 100% accurate as of the artwork/booklet.

  11. Napua says:

I hear ‘voice’ too rather than ‘noise’.

  12. Pablo says:

I lost my grip, my vision going dull
swing my hip like a dancer gone numb
i saw your shadow, saw the skeleton run
there is something missing from the memory of, you
you shake my world from the ground to my head
the distant voice that’ll wake me out of bed
I listen in as the walls cave in
I’m hanging on ’cause your memory’s thin

    ooh-hoo
    I lost my grib
I balanced it on a piece of paper
    true
in one trip, is weaving in and I’ll wait for later
who, is leaning on, leaning in on my yes to be?
who, is sneaking in, is sneaking in on me, on me?

    I got a house then I turned a frown
Painted walls and the letters upside down
I try to hold on, I try hold on but you’re gone
then I tried to let go, but your memory’s still on

    ooh-hoo
    I lost my grip
I balanced it on a piece of paper
    true, the one trip
it’s weaving in and I’ll wait for later
who, is leaning on, leaning on my yes to be?
who, is sneaking in, sneaking on my, on me, on my, on me, on my, on me, on my, on me, on my, on me, on my, on me, on my, on me, on my, on me, on my, on me, on my, on me, on my, on me, on my, on me, on my, on me, on my, on me, on my, on me, on my, on me, on my, on me, on my, on me, on my, on me, on my, on me, on my, on me, on my, on me, on my, on me, on my, on me, on my, on me, on my, on me, on my, on me, on my, on me, on my, on me, on my, on me, on my, on me, on my, on me, on my, on me, on my, on me, on my, on me, on my, on me, on my, on me.

  13. chris says:

    It’s definitely “Yes to be..”

But insteaed of, “Distant noise that will wake me out of bed”, it is, “A distant voice that will wake me out of bed”
